Mechanical Workshop: All the students are trained in various sections like fitting, foundry, sheet metal, smithy, carpentry, plumbing, welding etc. In Engineering Workshop the students will be given practical training in basic Mechanical Engineering trades so that they can know how raw materials are converted into basic components, what are the tools and equipment required for the respective works, the practical difficulties faced in doing the work and how these problems can be solved etc.
Machine Shop: This lab is established to provide opportunity to students to acquire experience on general purpose machine tools like Lathe, Shaper, Milling Machine, Drilling Machine, Cylindrical & Surface Grinding Machines etc.
CNC Lab: The lab is equipped with excellent facilities for the students to acquire the application of various CNC machines like CNC Lathe, CNC Milling, Mini Robot, etc.
Metrology and Measurement Lab: The objective of aim this lab is to study the basic principles involved in Metrology & Instrumentation and Metallographic Testing. Excellent facilities are available to familiarize with different measuring instruments to make the students understand the importance of precision instruments, their principles and operation and application of various measuring techniques. The lab is well equipped with machines including Autocollimator, Tool maker’s Microscope, Polishing Machines, Lathe Tool Dynamometer etc.
Thermal Lab & Heat and Mass Transfer Lab: The lab aims at providing practical knowledge to the students about various modes of Heat transfer and to conduct experimental tests for the better understanding of thermal engineering principles.
Available equipment’s include four cylinder four stroke petrol engine, Single cylinder four stroke petrol engine, Multi cylinder diesel engines, Air Compressor, Refrigeration Test rig, Air conditioning test rig, Bomb Calorimeter, Red Wood Viscometer etc.
Heat and Mass Transfer Lab: This lab is well equipped with test rigs for various studies including the principle of composite wall, natural convection, forced convection, radiation, heat exchangers, Emissivity measurement, Composite wall, Boiling and condensation Apparatus etc.
Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulic Machines Lab: Fluid Mechanics Lab is well equipped to get hands on experience in flow measurements using difference devices like Venturimeter, Orificemeter, Notches, etc. The students have an opportunity to understand the various principles in Fluid Mechanics and their practical applications using devices like Bernoulli’s theorem apparatus.
Hydraulics is another important area that deals with the working and application of different types of Hydraulic Machines in the various fields of Engineering. The lab is equipped with turbines used in hydro-electric power plants and pumps used in various practical applications.
CAD LAB: This lab provides exposure to software tools needed for making students to understand and interpret drawings of machine components to assembly drawings using CAD software. CAD lab provide opportunity to gain practical experience in handling 2D drafting and 3D modeling software.
